NBC Reviving The Sound of Music

The hills will once again be alive with the sound of music, if NBC has their way. According to Vulture, the company announced today that they will broadcast a live performance of the classic musical.

If you’re expecting a faithful rendition to the old Julie Andrews version, think again. Co-producer Neil Meron says that the new show is “based on the stage musical.” Translation: songs not included in the movie could find their way onstage.

NBC has not yet announced who they will cast in the remake, or when it will air.
