Paul McCartney Paid $1.57 for Olympics Opening Ceremony Performance
Paul McCartney was one of the many musicians and performers to take part in the 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony, and not that he necessarily needs any more money, it’s slightly humorous that according to the Associated Press he was only paid a whopping one pound ($1.57) for the appearance.
Apparently the small compensation was just a way to make the contracts binding for the artists. The ceremony included McCartney’s performance of “Hey Jude,” as well as appearances from the Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rascal, Mike Oldfield and Emeli Sande. So far no word on how McCartney plans to spend the $1.57.
