Pinback Announces First Album in Five Years

Veteran San Diego rockers Pinback announced they are set to release Information Retrieved, their first full-length album in five years, on Oct. 16 through Temporary Residence.

The forthcoming album follows a pair of EPs the band released in 2011, Information Retrieved Pt. A and Information Retrieved Pt. B, which also came by way of Temporary Residence. Their previous two full-length albums, 2004’s Summer in Abandon and 2007’s Autumn of the Seraphs, were released on Touch and Go.

In addition to putting out the Information Retrieved EPs last year, band members Zach Smith and Rob Crow have kept plenty busy since the release of their last LP. Smith, also known as Armistead Burwell Smith IV, reconvened with his former band, Three Mile Pilot, in 2010 to release The Inevitable Past is the Future Forgotten, their first album since 1999. In 2011, Crow released a solo album, He Thinks He’s People.
