Watch The Eighth Hobbit Production Video
The latest installment of Peter Jackson’s video blog details the teary eyed conclusion of principal photography for the the two-part Hobbit epic. The past blogs have delivered stunning detail into what goes into a Jackson production.
The video opens with Jackson preparing for the exciting (and grueling) day ahead at San Diego Comic-con where he is greeted by thousands of screaming fans, many who’ve waited days (yes, plural), to get inside the fabled Hall C. Apart from showing new clips from the films, Jackson also introduced the star-studded cast behind the film with a special appearance by Elijah Wood.
The video establishes the family mentality that many of the cast and crew developed throughout the 266 days of filming. The most moving moment occurs when Jackson, the man behind the massive saga, dons Gandalf’s hat and receives a big hug from Ian McKellan. Many cite the film’s conclusion as an the end of an era. There’s still The Silmarillion, right?
The next video will detail post-production, which Jackson promises is just as difficult as filming. You can watch the almost 15-minute video below.
