First Official Image for Oz The Great And Powerful Released

Disney has released the first official image of Sam Raimi’s Oz The Great And Powerful. Within the image, all the classic iconography is present: tornadoes, the yellow brick road, the Emerald City and Oscar Diggs’ multi-colored hot air balloon. As the title suggests, Dorothy will be absent from this film, instead focusing on small-time magician (James Franco) who finds himself in the middle of a bitter battle between the three Witches of Oz (Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams).

Disney will be promoting and releasing more details about the film next week at Comic-Con in San Diego. The film is slated for release on March 8, 2013.
