Warner Bros. Officially Postpones Gangster Squad for 2013 Release
Speculation about the postponement of Warner Bros. upcoming film Gangster Squad has been confirmed, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film contained a scene of a movie theater shooting, and following the tragedy in Aurora, Colo., the studio has decided to not only push the premiere to the beginning of next year, but they will also be gathering the cast to reshoot.
Warner Bros. is considering a Jan. 11 release next year, as opposed to the planned Sept. 7 premiere, but a decision won’t be made until the other contributing factors, such as scheduling and press availability have been sorted out.
Gangster Squad, directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by Will Beall, features an all-star cast, including Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin.
