It’s been a big week for Frank Ocean: the physical version of his breakthrough album Channel Orange was released this Tuesday to critical and fan acclaim, and at his show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, Calif., on Tuesday night, he played a cover of Prince’s “When You Were Mine.”
Earl Sweatshirt, a member of Ocean’s Odd Future brethren, later joined him on stage to contribute his verse on “Super Rich Kids.” Because it’s 2012 and most phones have video recording capabilities, both of these performances are available for streaming below.
Channel Orange premiered on iTunes a week before the physical release, closely following Ocean’s hotly-debated open letter on his Tumblr stating that he has previously been in love with a man and detailing the effect it had on him. Despite—or perhaps because of—the controversy, his album has already sold over 131,000 copies.
