Watch the Trailer for Devo's New Documentary, Are We Not Men?

After three years of development, a new documentary about the groundbreaking Akron, Ohio-rooted band Devo has been given a tentative release date. The group’s strange, and often very private, journey will be highlighted in the film, as well as the reasons for their 1970s formation from a satirical standpoint.

Directed by Tony Pemberton, Are We Not Men? chronicles Devo’s career in its entirety, featuring private home videos, archival film and concert footage. In addition to exclusive interviews with the band, the film also includes interviews with Iggy Pop, Dave Grohl and Tony Hawk.

Pemberton, who is seeking funds for the project via Kickstarter, hopes to have the documentary ready for inclusion in next year’s Sundance Film Festival. Contributors will receive everything from digital downloads of the finished film to signed, limited-edition T-shirts.
