Watch the Trailer for the Animated Mass Effect 3 Film Prequel

San Diego Comic Con is in full swing, and new movie trailers are practically tripping over one another. Fresh out of the gate is a first look at Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, which stars ME3 vet James Vega (voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr.).

According to the trailer’s description on YouTube, the film is a collaboration between BioWare, Production I.G. (Kill Bill: Vol. 1 animation, Innocence) and BLOOD-C (The Last Dark). It’s a prequel following the early career of James Vega, an Alliance marine. The plot is described as follows:

“Vega leads an elite Special Forces squad into battle against a mysterious alien threat known as The Collectors. Stationed at a colony in a remote star system, Vega and his soldiers must protect the civilians from a ruthless invasion determined to capture the population for unknown purposes.”

Mass Effect: Paragon Lost is set for release on Nov. 13, 2012 on DVD and Blu-ray. Watch the trailer below.
