Bon Iver Announces Remix Contest

Bon Iver is hosting a fan-powered remix project titled Bon Iver, Bon Iver: Stems Project, in conjunction with Spotify and Indaba Music. Fans will have the opportunity to remix all 10 songs off of Bon Iver, Bon Iver from today through Aug. 29 for a chance to end up on the Stems Project album.

The winners of the contest will receive, in addition to having their remix on the album, a $1,000 cash prize.

To take part, fans can log onto the Indaba music website, download the stems of Bon Iver songs they’d like to work with, and then upload their completed remix to the website. Voting will take place beginning Aug. 30. Of the remixes with the most votes, Bon Iver will have the final say in what makes the album. Winners will be announced around the third week of September, at which point the album will be available exclusively for streaming through Spotify.

S. Carey of Bon Iver and Jagjaguwar has created a remix to get the creative juices flowing for participants, which you can listen to below (the link will open Spotify on your computer). Bon Iver is also currently on tour, and you can check out the dates below.
