Brian Posehn and The Walking Dead Co-Creator Tony Moore to Join Deadpool Creative Team

Much like DC Comics total reboot with the “New 52” initiative last year, Marvel editor-in-chief Axel Alonso announced that the company would also experience its own comic mix-up of sorts. But Alonso was sure to mention that this is not a reboot but a “new beginning.” Along with this fresh start comes a changing of the guard on several Marvel titles. Many creators, some dedicating several years to their books, will helm other Marvel projects.

With the announcement came a slew of news regarding the changes, but yesterday it was revealed that comedians Brian Posehn, Gerry Duggan and The Walking Dead co-creator, Tony Moore will helm everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed mercenary, Deadpool. The teaser image simply says “chimichangas,” Deadpool’s self-proclaimed favorite food.

Posehn’s comedic credentials are lengthy. He’s created two stand-up comedy albums and starred in Just Shoot Me!, Mister Show and The Sarah Silverman Program while Duggan starred in Attack of the Show. Moore has recently aided in the successful relaunch of Venom for Marvel along with Rick Remender. He’s also well known for having co-created The Walking Dead, a zombie-horror comic that has grown in popularity after the premiere of the AMC television adaptation.

Deadpool appears to be in very capable (and very funny) hands.
