Britt Daniel Joins Another New Band

First it was indie rock supergroup Divine Fits. Now, Britt Daniel has announced plans for yet another band, Spl:t S:ngle.

Alongside Guided By Voices’ Jason Narducy and The Mountain Goats’ Jon Wurster, Spl:t S:ngle is essentially Narducy’s solo project, but with the help of Daniels and Wurster, they began recording the debut album in July. According to Consequence of Sound, Daniels explained that this band is a bit different from his others, saying it’s “basically Jason’s songs, Jason singing. We’re backing him up.”

But that’s not all Daniels is up to. Although they have no specific plans, Daniels said in a recent interview with Exclaim that he has been writing new songs for Spoon and the group will “get back together again” once he finishes up with his other projects.

He’s currently on tour with Divine Fits, supporting their upcoming album A Thing Called Divine Fits.
