Netflix and DirecTV have reportedly expressed interest in bringing The Killing back to life. If successful, it would be added to the short list of shows that have received a stay of execution, joining the esteemed company of Friday Night Lights and Damages, both rescued by DirecTV, and Netflix’s upcoming Arrested Development reboot.
Although critics and viewers alike panned the series for failing to solve the seasons-long mystery in a timely manner, cast member Jamie Anne Allman told Entertainment Weekly in June that the writers already have an idea of where to go with the characters.
”’They have a whole other crime idea set up and in place,’’ Allman says. ‘’It should be exciting.” The Killing, starred Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman and aired on AMC for two seasons before wrapping with a finale this past June.
