Christian Bale In Talks To Star In Todd Field's The Creed Of Violence
Fresh off his role as the caped crusaded in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, Christian Bale is reportedly in “early negotiations” to star in Todd Field’s upcoming film, The Creed of Violence. The film is a depiction of Boston Teran’s lauded fifth novel of the same name, which tells the story of the 1910 Mexican revolution through the eyes of assassin Rawbone and investigator John Lourdes. Bale would play the mischievous Rawbone as he reluctantly works with Lourdes against the local criminal element.
The role would signal Bale’s return to western films after his portrayal of Dan Evans in James Mangold’s 3:10 to Yuma in 2007. Bale recently finished filming Out of the Furnace and is currently starring in Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups.
Field has had a few cancelled project in recent years including an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian but hasn’t assumed a director’s role since Little Children in 2006.
