NBC surprisingly cut loose Dan Harmon from Community earlier this year, but Harmon quickly returned to primetime sitcom television agreeing to develop a new show for FOX. The story of Harmon’s rise in primetime television continues with Deadline reporting that Harmon has agreed to develop a multi-camera sitcom for CBS as well. The 39-year-old writer-producer found recent success with fan favorites The Sarah Silverman Program and Community.
Other than television work, Harmon is working on Kickstarter-funded, stop-motion animated film, Anomalisa, with writer Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich) and Duke Johnson (Moral Orel, Frankenhole). The film skyrocketed past its goal of $200,000 with 38 days left to go.
It’s seem like every primetime network wants a piece of Harmon’s creative magic. Luckily, there seems to be enough to go around.
