Watch Neil Young Play A New Song, "Twisted Road," Live
Neil Young and Crazy Horse tested out five new songs—presumably, from an upcoming album—during a show at Red Rocks Ampitheatre last night.
One of them, “Twisted Road,” was captured on video by a fan. The video shows Neil from way far away, but the quality of the recording’s good, and should give you a good idea of what the song sounds like.
“Twisted Road” is a simple, acoustic song with lyrics that read like a tribute to music itself. The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and Sam Cooke are just three of many influential artists mentioned during the song’s three-minute span.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse touring North America in support of their latest album, Americana, until early December. Last night was the first of two shows Young and his band are playing with Alabama Shakes at Red Rocks, so there’s always the chance that even more material could surface tonight, as well.
