Newly formed Ulraísta has released their new single via streaming on SoundCloud. The track, titled “Bad Insect,” highlights the percussion talents of drummer Joey Waronker as well as Laura Bettison’s drifting vocals, all layered underneath the melodic synths of famed producer Nigel Godrich.

The band formed earlier this year and has already released videos for two tracks (“Smalltalk” and “Static Light”). The band has also announced plans for their self-titled debut, which be released on Oct. 2.

Having produced for artists such as Radiohead, Beck and Paul McCartney, it is no surprise Godrich’s influence is readily apparent within Ultraísta’s work. The tracks “Static Light” and “Smalltalk” both garnered strong recent-era Radiohead comparisons.

In addition to the release of their self-titled debut, the band has also announced plans to back the disc with a collection of live performances, details of which are not yet available.
