Prince Announces Chicago Residency

Following similar projects in New York and Los Angeles, Prince has announced a multi-date residency at Chicago’s United Center, appropriately named “Welcome 2 Chicago” (via Consequence of Sound).

Marking his first shows in the city since 2004, the residency is set to kick of on Sept. 24.

The event will be put on in support of Rebuild the Dream, an organization founded by Van Jones that seeks to “build strong vibrant communities and to fix our economy from the ground up.”

Tickets for the initial show go on sale Sept. 6, and additional shows will be announced soon.
