Videodrome Remake Gets a Director
One of the films responsible for bringing writer-director David Cronenberg’s peculiar vision into the minds of the masses will soon be getting a makeover.
Deadline reports that commercial director Adam Berg is in talks with Universal Pictures about helming the reported remake written by Ehren Kruger.
Kruger and producing-partner Daniel Bobker reportedly plan to modernize the concept of the original 1983 film starring James Woods as a cable television programmer who believes the future of television lies in Videodrome, a series showing gratuitous acts of violence.
There is no news yet on when shooting will begin, but viewers looking for a Cronenberg-fix can catch his new film Cosmopolis, in select theaters now.
