Watch a Trailer This Must Be the Place, Starring Sean Penn

On Oct. 14, The Weinstein Company will release Sean Penn’s latest film, This Must Be the Place. Penn plays an eccentric 50-year-old former rock star named Cheyenne who lives off his royalties. When he learns his father is dying, he travels to New York and ends up going on a search for his father’s “persecutor” at Auschwitz. Cheyenne’s father, who is a Holocaust survivor, had spent his entire life searching for his Nazi persecutor but never found him.

This Must Be the Place also stars Frances McDormand and features the music of David Byrne, who also appears in the film.
