Watch a Trailer for The Paperboy

Yesterday, Paste reported about Lee Daniels upcoming project with Hugh Jackman titled Orders to Kill. Now, a trailer has been released for Daniels most recent film, The Paperboy, featuring Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron, John Cusack and Matthew McConaughey. As you’ve noticed, lack of star power is not this film’s weak point.

The Paperboy is a thriller that follows the Jansen brothers (McConaughey and Efron), two reporters who investigate a murder involving a Florida death row inmate (Cusack) in an effort to exonerate him. Perhaps the most memorable moments of the trailer revolve around Kidman’s “trashy” performance as Charlotte Bless, who carries an air of southern carelessness.

The Paperboy competed for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival but was bested by Michael Haneke’s Amour. The film’s theater release is set for Oct. 5. You can watch the trailer for The Paperboy below.
