Update: A 10-minute preview of the Avetts’ upcoming album, The Carpenter, was made available through their website today. Take a listen below.

As previously reported, The Avett Brothers are set to release The Carpenter on Sept. 11.

The album is their follow-up to 2009’s fantastic I and Love and You. And now, thanks to NPR Music, we’ve got a taste of one of the album’s songs, “Live and Die.” The clip shows the band performing in their tour bus in Camden, N.J.

The video features a stripped-down Avetts setup, with a guitar and banjo backing the vocals. Take a listen to the song below. We also recently released exclusive cover art for The Carpenter, which you can view here.
