Beverly Hills Cop TV Series Lands on CBS

Barely a week after making the announcement that a television show based on the popular Beverly Hills Cop films was in development, it has been announced that CBS has ordered a pilot from Murphy and co-creator Shawn Ryan.

Though no official release date has been set, it is likely the show will make its debut sometime next fall.

As was previously reported, the series will not focus on Murphy’s Axel Foley, the lead in the film series, and instead will feature primarily Axel’s son, Aaron. The role of Aaron has yet to be cast, though it is intended to have Murphy reprise his role from the films as a guest star periodically throughout the show.
