Justin Vernon Says Bon Iver Might be "Winding Down"
Since the release of Bon Iver’s self-titled album, frontman Justin Vernon has been touring relentlessly, and it looks like it is all finally winding down for the singer.
According to City Pages, in a recent interview with a Minnesota public radio station, Vernon discussed the future of the band. Notably, he talked about slowing the speed of the band down after a long tour.
“Winding it down. I look at it like a faucet. I have to turn it off and walk away from it because so much of how that music comes together is subconscious or discovering. There’s so much attention on the band, it can be distracting at times. I really feel the need to walk away from it while I still care about it. And then if I come back to it – if at all – I’ll feel better about it and be renewed or something to do that,” said Vernon.
For fans who are worried about the impending hiatus, there is a little relief. The Bowery Presents Live is now broadcasting a live performance of Bon Iver at the iconic New York City Music Hall. The YouTube channel will feature the performance until Wenesday. The performance was part of a four night stay at the famous music hall.
