Guillermo del Toro Adapting The Strain for FX

Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that FX is nearing a deal for a pilot order adapting The Strain, a book trilogy written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan.

The series, which was first published in 2009, centers on a vampire virus that spreads in New York and the leading investigator of the case, CDC doctor Ephraim “Eph” Goodweather.

Del Toro and Hogan are set to co-write the pilot, with Lost’s Carlton Cuse attached to serve as executive producer should the show be picked up.

The Strain joins previously announced pilot orders by FX for Bronx Warrants and The Bridge.
