Lil Wayne Beats Elvis as Billboard's Most Featured Artist
Move over Elvis Presley, there is a new King in town. While he might not be taking the crown for King of rock and roll, Lil Wayne is snatching the title for most entries on the Billboard Chart in the top 100 from the late Presley, MTV points out.
The rapper just got his 109th entry this week for his collaboration with The Game on the track “Celebration,” which debuted at number 82. This knocked the King out of the top spot, which he had held since 2003.
While he has technically snatched the title, it should be noted that not all of Wayne’s entries were merely solo work. In fact, only about 42 tracks listed on the Billboard chart have Wayne listed as the lead artist on the track. Over half of the entries that have qualified the rapper for the title have been collaborations where he has just been listed as a featured artist. Presley, on the other hand, was listed as the lead artist on all 108 of his tracks that made the top 100.
Even so, Wayne has won the title as the most featured artist on the Billboard Chart’s top 100.
