London Film Festival Announces 2012 Schedule

The schedule for the 56th London Film Festival, which opens Oct. 10 with a screening of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie and ends Oct. 21, was announced earlier today. A total of 225 fiction and documentary films are scheduled to be shown over the 12-day period.

The Rolling Stones will be making an appearance at the gala screening for the world premiere of Crossfire Hurricane. The documentary, directed by Brett Morgen, features historical footage and commentaries by members and former members of the legendary band.

Another film scheduled to screen is the Dustin Hoffman-helmed Quartet, notable for being Hoffman’s directorial debut and starring a slew of British celebrities.

The festival will end Oct. 21 with Great Expectations, a film directed by Mike Newell that stars Helena Bonham Carter.
