Neil Young Calls Music Piracy the "New Radio"

Legendary singer Neil Young recently made a surprising statement about music piracy, voicing his support for illegal downloading. Young said he is not affected by piracy and considers it the “new radio.”

During a conference, Young said “”I look at the radio as gone … Piracy is the new radio. That’s how music gets around … That’s the radio. If you really want to hear it, let’s make it available, let them hear it, let them hear the 95 percent of it.”

Young also spoke about the listening quality of music, citing it as a main concern. Young believes that music quality can be increased; an achievement that Young thinks could’ve eventually been accomplished by Steve Jobs if he was still alive.
