While fans have been clamoring for more Party Down since its short run on Starz ended in 2010, the long-gesticulating project has seen little in the way of advancements—until now.
Early last month Megan Mullally guested on Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang! Bang! podcast and revealed that the movie appears to have financing and is currently waiting script approval.
Another Party Down alum, Lizzy Caplan, guested on Aukerman’s show this week and gave even more updates.
”[Megan’s] not supposed to be saying that. We’re hoping that the Party Down movie happens,” Caplan said. “I don’t see why it wouldn’t, but nothing is set in stone.”
Later in the episode she confirmed with more certainty, “Yeah, it’s happening, for sure.”
Although we have yet to receive word on when shooting will begin or when we’ll get to see the reunion, we are inching closer to seeing this film come to fruition.
Until then, fans can catch various cast members on the small and big screen. Caplan stars in Bachelorette in theaters Sept. 7, Adam Scott will return on Parks & Recreation Sept. 20 on NBC and Ken Marino currently stars in the web series Burning Love.
