Sons of Anarchy Actor Found Dead
Update: The Associated Press has reported that no drugs were found in the system of former Sons of Anarchy star Johnny Lewis, who died in September after falling to his death. Lewis’ autopsy showed no trace of cocaine, alcohol, marijuana, anti-psychotic drugs, or psychedelic drugs. At the time of his death authorities thought that Lewis may have been under the influence of PCP or meth due to his believed involvement in the death of his 81-year-old landlady Catherine Davis. The autopsy also revealed that Lewis had nail marks on both sides of his neck and that he had suffered from partial strangulation. His death has now been ruled accidental.
It was a tragic end for an actor from the popular FX series Sons of Anarchy. Sadly, this is not referring to recent death of one of the characters, but rather the very mysterious death of one of the show’s actors, Johnny Lewis. Lewis was 28.
According to ABC News, Lewis died after either falling or jumping off the roof of a Los Angeles home. As if a possible suicide was not tragic enough, it has also been reported that Lewis is a suspect of the murder of the 81-year-old woman who owned the house that Lewis fell from.
Neighbors and a handyman responded when they heard the screams of the woman. They quickly ran to the house to see what was the matter. They found the woman dead with blunt force trauma to the head and they then confronted Lewis, which lead to a very violent confrontation. Lewis ran back inside the house and made his way to the roof. By the time police arrived on the scene it was to late, Lewis was already dead on the driveway.
It is believed that Lewis was on some kind of drug, many speculate that it was either PCP or meth, due to his “superhuman strength” during the violent confrontation with neighbors, according to TMZ. The actor had been renting a room in the woman’s house.
Lewis had recently played Kip “Half-Sack” Epps on Sons of Anarchy. The show’s creator, Kurt Sutter, took to his Twitter to respond to the horrifying incident. "It was a tragic end for an extremely talented guy, who unfortunately had lost his way. I wish I could say that I was shocked by the events last night, but I was not. I am deeply sorry that an innocent life had to be thrown into his destructive path,” he tweeted.
