The Black Keys Invite Dancing Man from “Lonely Boy” Video To VMAs

He first showed us his killer dance moves in The Black Keys’ video for “Lonely Boy” and now he will be strutting his stuff down the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards. According to Spin, the Ohio rockers have asked Derrick T. Tuggle to accompany them at the VMAs tonight, where the video is nominated for Best Rock Video.

Tuggle, a 48-year-old actor, musician and part-time security guard, first danced his way into our hearts back in October, when the video was released. The musicians cast him to stand outside a motel room and shake those hips while acting out certain lyrics. Tuggle’s dance moves became widely popular, and the video currently has more than 18 million views on YouTube.

The Black Keys are nominated for Best Rock Video along with Linkin Park, Coldplay and Jack White. Tuggle was quoted as saying that if the ‘Keys win and invite him on stage for their acceptance speech that he might give the audience a little dance.

Be sure to see if The Black Keys win by watching the VMA’s tonight on MTV.
