Watch a Full Trailer for Lincoln

Last night saw the premiere of the full trailer for Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated Lincoln. The film stars Academy Awar-winners Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones and chronicles the nation’s sixteenth President during the controversial final months of his presidency and life.

The trailer builds on the teaser that was released earlier this week, and features several clips of Lewis portraying the iconic President famous for abolishing slavery during the Civil War.

Complete with an overly dramatic score we have come to expect from a trailer for a Spielberg-directed historical epic, our first glimpse at the performances in the film luckily suggest it has the potential to rise above Hollywood cliché and truly examine one of America’s most celebrated figures in his most pressing hours.
