Watch Krist Novoselic Join The Vaselines Onstage at Bumbershoot

Nirvana performed a number of covers during their iconic 1994 MTV Unplugged performance, one of which was Scottish duo The Vaselines’ 1987 song “Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam.”

Over Labor Day weekend, The Vaselines made an appearance at Seattle’s Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival, where a crowd of fans watched them play songs from their most recent release, 2010’s Sex With an X, as well as classics like “Jesus Doesn’t Want Me For A Sunbeam,” which is still their most recognizable song due to its place in grunge rock history.

Joining the band onstage for “Jesus Don’t Want Me For A Sunbeam” was Nirvana bassist and Northwest darling Krist Novoselic, who contributed the song’s signature accordian line.
