Beyoncé to Perform at Superbowl Halftime Show

In Beyoncé’s 2008 classic “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” the singer utters the phrase “If you liked it then you should’ve put a ring on it,” before dismissing a regretful suitor. It seems Pepsi doesn’t want to make the same mistake as the AP reports it has tapped the star to perform at its NFL Halftime Show early next year.

Speaking under the condition of anonymity, the source says an official announcement is expected to be made Wednesday.

This won’t be the first time Beyoncé lends her voice to the Super Bowl, she sang the national anthem in 2004 when the New England Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers 32-29 in a closely-contested game.

Superbowl XLVII will kickoff on Feb. 3, 2013, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Check out the singer’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” below.
