Bryan Singer has officially been slated to direct the next X-Men movie, returning to the franchise he helped reboot over a decade ago. ComingSoon.net has confirmed the director will helm X-Men: Days of Future Past almost a week after Matthew Vaughn opted out of the project.
Vaughn directed 2011’s critically acclaimed X-Men: First Class, the prequel origin story to the franchise.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to begin production in early 2013 and Twentieth Century Fox is aiming for a release date of July 18, 2014. X-Men: First Class stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence are all slated to return.
