Community's Alison Brie Testing for Captain America Sequel
Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow to appear
This summer it was revealed that former Community producers Anthony and Joe Russo were selected to direct the Captain America sequel. Perhaps they’ll get as big of a say in casting decisions as shot selection when their former co-worker, Alison Brie, reads for the part of the female lead.
HitFix reported that Brie is among five actresses who are testing for the part, joining Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jessica Brown Findlay (Downton Abbey), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and Imogen Poots (Knight of Cups).
Although Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow has yet to score her own film, according to Deadline, she will appear in the Captain America sequel.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is expected to start shooting soon, with an early 2014 release.
