M83 Releases Video for “Steve McQueen”

M83 has unveiled a stunning video for “Steve McQueen,” from 2011’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. The video features a strapping young gentleman dressed in a yellow suit, science experiments and some stellar animation sequences that all fit the spirit of the song perfectly.

There is certainly a sense of nostalgic freedom at work here, as directors Balthazar Auxietre and Sylvain Derosne let the song dictate their edits in order to let the video take on a life of its own. The video is the result of a video contest run by Genero.tv.
