NBC Ends Production on Rainn Wilson's Office Spinoff

Update: According to THR, NBC will air The Farm’s pilot as a regular episode of The Office at some point this season.

Through his Twitter page, The Office star Rainn Wilson has informed us that NBC has decided to pass on The Farm, an Office spin-off that would have centered around Dwight Schrute’s family’s beet farm.

“Farm Update: NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show,” Wilson tweeted. “Had a blast making the pilot – onwards & upwards!”

Plans to produce the spin-off were originally reported early in 2012, and several details were announced over the course of the year, including confirmed cast members and the show’s official name.
