Sir Ian McKellen To Star in New British Sitcom

Looks like Sir Ian McKellen is trading in Middle Earth for a more domestic life style in his next project. Indiewire reported that McKellan is set to star in a new sitcom airing in April on British television network ITV.

The show will center around the life and relationship of a gay couple living in Covent Garden. McKellen will be joined by Derek Jacobi on the upcoming show, both actors are openly gay and are big advocates in the gay community. Embracing age and stereotypes the show’s creators have picked to call the show Vicious Old Queens. There will be six episodes spanning for 30 minutes. ITV has agreed to begin airing the sitcom this April.
