Sufjan Stevens Releases Gory Claymation Video for "Mr. Frosty Man"

Sufjan Stevens continues to get into the holiday spirit in anticipation of the release of the Christmas box set Silver & Gold: Songs for Christmas Volumes 6-10. Stevens has released a video for the track “Mr. Frosty Man,” and it features a claymation style of animation that is a mainstay in classic Christmas specials of years past.

In typical Stevens style, the video puts a slight spin on archetypical holiday-themed music videos. With Halloween merely one week away, the video perfectly blends the upcoming winter holiday season with more pertinent themes such as a zombie apocalypse. The video for “Mr. Frosty Man” portrays a group of radioactive zombies attacking a family in a remote cabin. Not to worry though, a child’s magical snowman is there to save the day.
