Tarantino Teases Formation of Unofficial Trilogy

Ever the elusive enigma, iconic director Quentin Tarantino may be developing a trilogy right beneath our noses. In a recent interview with Total Film, Tarantino teased that a trilogy has already begun, starting with 2009’s Inglorious Basterds, and perhaps continuing with the upcoming Django Unchained.

“I don’t know, Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained bespeak a trilogy,” he said. “As different as they are, there is a companion piece quality. There might very well be a third one. I just don’t know what it is yet.”

While Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained hold very different plots, it seems easy to imagine the comparisons being drawn by the director. Tarantino has made no other statements regarding his next project.

Django Unchained is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 25.
