Walking Dead Return Sets Basic Cable Records

Deadline is reporting that last night’s season three premiere of AMC’s popular series The Walking Dead broke several basic cable records as a result of their overall 10.9 million draw. The premiere now ranks as the most watched drama telecast in basic cable history.

The show also upped the records the series already held for adults 18-49 and 25-54, setting new marks of 7.3 million and 6.1 million respectively. Both were increases of over 45 percent from the season two premiere.
