Watch Kendrick Lamar Play with The Roots on Fallon

The chance to perform with The Roots as your backup band is one of the biggest perks for any hip hop artist filling the role of musical guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Last night, California MC Kendrick Lamar took full advantage on his national TV debut.

Donning a black hoodie, Lamar went back and forth with ?uestlove before launching into the first verse of “Swimming Pools (Drank),” a track off his forthcoming debut full-length good kid, m.A.A.d. city.
