Roger Waters and My Morning Jacket Cover The Band at Levon Helm Benefit
A bevy of iconic musical acts assembled on Wednesday night at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., to pay tribute to the late Levon Helm, the legendary singer/drummer for The Band. Performers included Roger Waters and My Morning Jacket, who shared the stage for a stellar rendition of “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.”
Other performers included Warren Haynes, Gregg Allman, Jorma Kaukonen, Barry Mitterhoff, Garth Hudson, John Prine, Ray LaMontagne and John Mayer.
The proceeds from the evening are meant to aid Helm’s family, who is in a battle to retain ownership of his home and studio in Woodstock, N.Y.
