Vampire Weekend, The Walkmen Schedule Acoustic Performances for Occupy Sandy Benefit
To help raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy, Vampire Weekend, Devendra Banhart and many others will perform acoustic sets during the Occupy Sandy benefit concert.
The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser, Walter Martin and Peter Bauer and Dirty Projector’s David Longstreth, Amber Coffman and Haley Dekle also will perform at Occupy Sandy, in addition to Real Estate and Cass McCombs. To show their support to the victims still left without power the artists will play their sets acoustically.
The intimate benefit concert will take place at St. Ann & The Holy Trinity in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Nov. 17. Occupy Sandy is asking that for tickets fans donate a minimum of $30 and limit their tickets to two per person. All the donations will go towards Occupy Sandy’s efforts to build an infrastructure that will help sustain recovery efforts across New York City.
