Bret McKenzie To Write New Music For Muppets Sequel

Looks like Bret McKenzie will be writing music for the Muppets for a second time. NME is reporting that the Flight Of The Conchords star will write a new batch of songs for the upcoming Muppets sequel.

Collider recently caught up with the film’s producer Todd Lieberman who confirmed that McKenzie will be back to work on new material for the sequel. Last year, McKenzie worked as the music supervisor for The Muppets and even penned three original songs for the film. One song in particular garnered a tremendous amount of success for McKenzie, as he won the Oscar for Best Original Song for “Man or Muppet.”

Not much else has been revealed about the upcoming sequel. Liberman did confirm that the film will begin shooting in early 2013 and will take place around London. Check out McKenzie’s Oscar winning song “Man or Muppet” below via Muppets Studio.
