Cybermen Return to Doctor Who in Neil Gaiman-Penned Episode

Author Neil Gaiman is no stranger to Doctor Who. Gaiman won a Hugo Award for the 2011 episode, The Doctors Wife, and now Deadline now reported he will make his return to the show next spring for an episode that also marks the return of the Cybermen (last seen in 2011’s Closing Time).

Doctor Who executive producer Steven Moffat confirmed the episode will be part of the current season and will co-star Life’s Too Short’s Warwick Davis, EastEnders‘ Tamzin Outhwaite and Being Human‘s Jason Watkins.

The show returns Dec. 25 for a Christmas special that will introduce the Doctor’s new companion to be played by Jenna-Louise Coleman before returning for an eight-episode run in the spring.
