While Guillermo Del Toro isn’t involved with the upcoming Justice League film, the director recently confirmed his interest in a film called Heaven Sent, about a team of darker DC Comics characters like Deadman, The Spectre and Swamp Thing.
“When somebody asked me about Justice League
I’m not involved in Justice League” Del Toro said while speaking with MTV Geek. “I am discussing
I’ve been discussing with the fans and I’ve been very, very open about how much Swamp Thing was key when I was a kid. Comics in Mexico came on the first two days of the week. Around Tuesday and Wednesday I would go to the newsstand on my bicycle and I would get Swamp Thing every time it was available and I loved Jack Kirby’s Demon. I love Constantine and all that.”
Though there is no official confirmation as of yet, there is clear overlap between Heaven Sent and the DC Comics series Justice League Dark.
And though the project is merely in developmental stages, fans can remain hopeful that the director will be bringing a comic book inspired film to screens in the near future. (via SlashFilm)
