Jared Leto Returns to Acting in Dallas Buyers Club
In recent years, Jared Leto has taken a break from acting to focus on his band, 30 Seconds to Mars. It appears he’s caught the acting bug again as Entertainment Weekly reports that Leto will play a cross-dressing AIDS patient in the feature film Dallas Buyers Club.
The drama, directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (The Young Victoria), tells the real-life story of Ron Woodruff (Matthew McConaughey), a drug-addicted electrician who contracts AIDS in the 1980s and smuggles the medicine necessary to combat the disease for himself, as well as his fellow patients including Leto. Jennifer Garner has been cast to play the part of Woodruff’s physician.
Leto was last seen in 2009’s Mr. Nobody with Sarah Polley and Diane Kruger.
