Sub Pop Founder Releases Rare Nirvana Pictures in New eBook
As one of the founders of Sub Pop, Bruce Pavitt helped shape the music scene in the early ‘90s. By signing influential bands like Nirvana and Mudhoney, Pavitt had a front-row seat to the phenomena that became grunge. Now, Pavitt is releasing a rare glimpse into the early days of Nirvana and grunge scene in Europe with his new ebook Experiencing Nirvana: Grunge in Europe, 1989.
Pavitt’s book is a photo journal capturing rare moments during Nirvana’s 1989 tour. The e-book covers eight days of the tour, from Nov. 27 through Dec. 4, 1989. During this short period Nirvana had broken up in Rome, only to get back together to perform a show that would forever change their career in Europe at the LameFest U.K. It’s been said that the performance was what won the European press over, and Pavitt was there capturing the historic event all on camera.
Experiencing Nirvana: Grunge in Europe, 1989 is now available on Apple’s iBookstore, you can click here to get your copy. Check out some of the pictures taken by Pavitt from the e-book below. For more rare pictures from Experiencing Nirvana: Grunge in Europe, 1989 go to Entertainment Weekly.
